HWL HAS MOVED TO A PERMANENT NEW HOME!

On February 1st HLW opened at our new address
1812 Haddonfield Berlin Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003.
We have purchased a property formerly known as Mary’s Vineyard which was operating as a spiritual wellness center. The building is situated on almost 2 acres of land that contains trees over two hundred years old, a wonderful walking labyrinth and a magnificent raspberry patch. Stay tuned for news of a raspberry festival for jam making as well as a local artist showing. This sacred land is also the future home an organic vegetable garden, meditation spots, natural wildlife areas, sunrise and sunset yoga sessions, a sweat lodge and a children’s pizza garden.

The large interior allows us to offer more programming and services which include massage, cooking classes, yoga, Qigong, writing workshops, weekly reiki circles along with our signature service of the most effective and supportive nutrition counseling you will ever experience.

We will also be renting out counseling and massage rooms by the hour (at a reasonable fee) for healers and professionals who do not have their own office, larger rooms for groups of up to 35 people, and a meeting place with large table and chairs for local organizations and associations.

For more information call or email Chris our rental manager at 856-428-5495 or high-level-wellness-online.com

EATING HEALTHY RIGHT NOW.
By Larraine Sileo CHHC

Most of us like to think that we are in fairly good physical condition. That's a high expectation considering the condition of the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the ground we walk on, not to mention the fast paced lifestyles that we lead. So what can we do about it, right now at this minute? Some people bury their heads and proceed to feed their bodies the foods and liquids that contain, at best, little to no nutritional value and at worst are toxic.
Keeping in mind all of the pollutants we're exposed to on a daily basis, here's three things you can do right now to help your body function optimally:

1. Eat lots of vegetables - Collard greens, mustard greens, kale and cabbage are loaded with vitamins and minerals and calcium. Broccoli, brussel sprouts and onions are rich in beta-carotene and vitamin C, both antioxidants and immune boosters. Onions are good for the blood and the digestive system. Leafy green vegetables contain enzymes that aid our digestive process and allow us to absorb all the wonderful nutrients that they contain.
2. Exercise - is a great way to relieve stress. It also burns off body fat, increases circulation and brings oxygen into your system. Oxygen destroys free radicals and cleans out the toxins from our blood.
3. Think good thoughts - Our bodies are wonderful, incredible, amazing organisms. We are sensitive not only to what we put on it and in it, but also to what we think! Our thoughts and our emotions have a profound effect on our bodies. Carolyn Myss, a renowned Medical Intuitive and author believes that the major emotions behind many cancers are hurt, sorrow, and unfinished emotional business. Are you holding on to any guilt, anger or shame that may be affecting your cell tissue?

The foods we eat create our blood - go into our organs - and become our body. If you eat junk, you will feel like junk. If you eat healthy, you will be healthy! So go ahead and whip up your own recipe for good health, and remember to include a nice dosage of goods thoughts, a healthy portion of exercise and don't forget your veggies!

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Roasted Root Vegetables with Kale

Ingredients:
(makes 10 to 12 servings)

1 bunch curly kale
1 medium size winter squash of your choice (butternut, kobucha, yellow crookneck, etc.)
2 sweet potatoes or Japanese yams
1 large or 2 medium size rutabagas
2 parsnips
2 turnips
2 onions
3 cloves diced garlic (or to your taste)
¼ cup olive oil
3 tbs. Mirin (rice wine)
3 tbs. Tamari
sage, rosemary, thyme, savory

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Cut root vegetables into approximately 1 inch cubes. Dice kale stems into ½ inch pieces and cut leaves into larger pieces. Combine olive oil, Mirin, Tamari, and herbs. Place vegetables into casserole baking pan. Pour olive oil mixture over vegetables and mix thoroughly, to ensure full coverage. Cover pan and place in oven for 1 hour, checking occasionally to make sure mixture is not drying out. In the event it is, you can add more olive oil. Dish is finished when all vegetables are cooked to your satisfaction (approximately one hour).

THE FUTURE OF NUTRITION

A lot of people I have met over the years while lecturing and counseling have asked about the nutrition school I attended. Since graduating from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition I have experienced wonderful success, happiness and balance in my life.

Holistic health counseling is more than a career; it is a way of being. The school instilled me with new ideas and a completely new way of thinking about nutrition, lifestyle and health.

The Institute for Integrative Nutrition located in New York City is the only holistic nutrition school in the world integrating all different dietary theories, from the ancient traditions of ayurveda, macrobiotics and Chinese medicine to the most current concepts like raw foods, Atkins diet, blood type diets, the Zone and the USDA Healthy Eating Pyramid.

There is no perfect way of eating that works for everybody. IIN believes in intuitive eating, based on the individual knowing that one person's food is another's poison.
